The Bland County
Historical Society Office is open every Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. We can also fill
orders on other days for books and accessories and answer questions
submitted by email at info@BlandCountyHistSoc.org or by phone at
April 9, 1865, just over 150 years ago, Confederate general Robert
E. Lee surrendered his Army of Northern Virginia to the Union’s
Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House, Virginia, signaling the
beginning of the end of the Civil War.

for their tireless work on this project.
Over the past couple of years, we have made great headway in
collecting the yearbooks for Bland High School, Ceres High School
and Rocky Gap High School. We appreciate the many people who have
answered our call for yearbooks. We are still missing a few. Please

and see if you have one we could have.
